Why Riverstone exists
Many managers are promoted because they are technically strong. They understand the work, solve problems, deliver reliably, and earn trust through their own performance.
But management asks for something more. Managers need to create clarity through others, communicate decisions, lead conversations, support development, manage accountability, and act when there is no perfect answer.
Riverstone Coaching Cafe exists for managers who want practical, reflective resources that help them move from management theory into everyday management practice.
Why Riverstone
The name Riverstone reflects the way management capability develops over time.
A stone in a river is not shaped in one moment. It is shaped gradually through movement, pressure, friction and time.
Management develops in much the same way. Good judgement is rarely built through theory alone. It develops through experience, reflection, difficult conversations, decisions, mistakes and repeated practice.
Riverstone Coaching Cafe was created around that idea: practical management learning that helps people reflect on experience, develop better judgements and keep growing through the real work of management.
About the founder
Riverstone Coaching Cafe was founded by Andy Hui, a senior Asia-Pacific executive, management practitioner and accredited coach with more than 20 years of leadership experience across reinsurance, insurance, financial services and consulting.
His experience spans strategy, organisational leadership, business transformation, people development and cross-cultural leadership.
He holds an MBA from Macquarie University, is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and an ICF Associate Certified Coach.
Riverstone brings together lessons from that experience with management research, reflection and coaching practice to help emerging managers develop better judgement and translate management ideas into everyday practice.
